About
Established in 2004, Paste is a graphic line of t-shirts, art prints and limited-edition gifts, all designed by artist Jason Laurits. Paste's t-shirts are still screenprinted in Brooklyn, NY. We’ve thrived for so long as a hidden, secret discovery not because of any genius marketing or takeover of social media, but because we’ve stayed true to form and under wraps.
I started PASTE by accident. I was pursuing rock music in London, knew how to silkscreen to make show posters, and I started printing on tees and selling them at markets to pay rent. It took off beyond my wildest imagination, and I was soon in 60+ stores around the world, including some major department stores. But I’m an artist at heart, not a brand, and I walked away from most of my wholesale accounts to open a humble little art and t-shirt shop in Chelsea Market. I’ve been happy there ever since, and it allows me to pursue my other passion: filmmaking. Yet I still take on major projects as an artist, including designing the Guggenheim’s t-shirts, collaborating with CB2 on several, sold-out Limited Edition collections, and designing a line of greeting cards with Recycled Greetings (Papyrus). I’m so lucky I’ve been able to do this for so long, and I appreciate everyone who has supported Paste and my work over the years.
